COOLTHERM’S DAN LAPWORTH NAMED ‘ACR APPRENTICE OF THE YEAR 2017’

 

Since leaving school over 10 years ago, Dan tried various different trades before settling on a career in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning. 

After leaving school at 16, Dan worked in a variety of roles including as an electrician, painter and decorator and as a Sales Assistant in a sports shop. During this time, he also got the opportunity to work in a Refrigeration company for a while which he thoroughly enjoyed. It was at this stage in his life that Dan began to seriously consider his future, and he decided that Refrigeration and Air Conditioning was the right career path for him.

Dan joined Cooltherm in 2017 and is now in his final year of his Level 3 qualification. He says his favourite parts of the job is having the independence and trust from the company to get hands on experience, and especially enjoys the maintenance and repair side of the business.

Dan was one of six finalists chosen from applicants from all over the country, of winning the award Dan says, ‘I was really surprised to win the apprentice of the year award particularly with such tough competition, but it’s really nice to get this recognition’.
