Projects Manager (HVAC)
Cooltherm are seeking an experienced and driven HVAC Project Manager to join our team in Caerphilly. This role is ideal for a motivated professional with a strong background in mechanical or HVAC engineering who can take ownership of projects from initial design through to commissioning and handover. As Project Manager, you will oversee the full lifecycle of HVAC installations, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards.

1. Project Planning & Execution:
· Joins, develops and oversees the entire HVAC project, from design stage to commissioning and follow up.
· Prepare project schedules, timelines, and deliverables, ensuring they align with client requirements.
· Collaborate with design and engineering teams to ensure installation plans meet technical and regulatory standards.
2. Team & Subcontractor Management:
· Supervise and coordinate installation teams, whether subcontractors or in-house technicians.
· Evaluate and select subcontractors, negotiating contracts and ensuring compliance with agreed terms.
· Monitor the performance of subcontractors and team members to maintain project quality and efficiency.
3. Quality Assurance & Compliance:
· Ensure installations meet German and EU HVAC standards, including DIN norms and energy efficiency regulations.
· Conduct site inspections to monitor the quality of work, safety compliance, and adherence to project specifications.
· Address any discrepancies in design or installation with corrective measures.
4. Budget & Cost Management:
· Prepare and control project budgets, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
· Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining project quality.
· Approve expenses related to materials, subcontractor fees, and labour costs.
· Raise cost walk ins for additional work prior to execution to the customers
5. Stakeholder Communication:
· Act as the liaison between clients, architects, engineers, and installation teams.
· Provide regular progress updates to clients and resolve any issues or changes promptly.
· Manage handover processes, ensuring client satisfaction during project completion.
6. Problem-Solving & Risk Management:
· Identify potential risks (e.g., delays, resource shortages) and develop mitigation plans.
· Resolve on-site challenges such as technical issues or unexpected site conditions.
7. Documentation & Reporting:
· Maintain detailed project documentation, including contracts, change orders, schedules, and inspection reports.
· Prepare and deliver regular status reports to internal and external stakeholders.
Essential Skills:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC Technology, or a related field.
- Alternatively, a combination of vocational training in HVAC and extensive project management experience, certified technician
- Understanding of installation requirements of all HVAC systems.
- Good communication skills. Good IT Skills/Competent with Microsoft office.
- Communicate with Senior management about scheduling, staffing and technical requirements.
- Working as part of a team.
- Good personal timekeeping.
Desired Skills:
- Site management (SMSTS/SSSTS/NEBOSH or equivalent)
- Competent with AutoCAD or Similar
